This honor reflects the company's extensive efforts in helping communities socially, environmentally, and economically.
CSR Program of Mahindra and Mahindra in FY 2023-24
CSR Program of Mahindra and Mahindra covers a wide range of activities, including education, women's empowerment, environmental care, and community support. During the financial year 2023-24, the company implemented several important projects:
Project Nanhi Kali:
This project helped 186,041 underprivileged girls get better education through 7,674 centers. It provided academic support and taught life and digital skills, helping teenage girls prepare for the future.
Mahindra Pride Classrooms:
Initially a broader initiative, this program now focuses entirely on women, enhancing job skills for 166,666 women across 1,697 colleges. It played a key role in training 103,699 women, showcasing Mahindra's dedication to gender equality and improving women's economic status.
Prerna Initiative:
This program supported 11,111 women farmers in six states by teaching effective farming methods, providing advice, and supplying female-friendly farming equipment. It promotes both women's empowerment and sustainable farming practices.
Women Economic Empowerment through Regenerative Agriculture:
Targeting 45,529 women farmers in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra, this initiative aims to improve soil quality and boost crop yields, creating a sustainable farming model that can be used elsewhere.
New Pilot Projects in ITES and Apparel Sectors:
These projects have trained 7,076 women in Telangana and Tamil Nadu, giving them specific skills needed for jobs in ITES and apparel industries.
Project Hariyali:
Focusing on the environment, this project plans to plant 2.21 million trees to increase green cover and support the livelihoods of marginalized farmers.
Water Conservation:
The company has helped 7,939 farmers in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra through projects that conserve water, diversify crops, and train farmers, promoting sustainable agriculture.
The company also shows its commitment to community development with a strong volunteering program. In FY 2023-24, 10,587 employees volunteered 55,272 hours for various social causes. December 5th was established as “Mahindra Volunteering Day,” with 9,301 employees volunteering 26,944 hours in its first year.
Future Plans for 2024-25
Looking ahead to 2024-25, Mahindra and Mahindra plans to expand its CSR activities:
Scaling Educational Programs: They plan to include more students in Project Nanhi Kali and Mahindra Pride Classrooms and introduce advanced digital tools to improve learning.
Enhancing Agricultural Initiatives: They want to extend their farming programs to more states and add more crop varieties to help farms adapt to climate change.
Broadening Environmental Projects: They aim to expand Project Hariyali to new areas and use technology to better monitor and support tree growth.
