New Delhi, October 30, 2024 — The Bharat Economic Forum (BEF) proudly announces the appointment of Yatin Bhaskar Duggal, winner of the 2024 National Youth Parliament, as the National Head of the Viksit Bharat Leadership Council (VBLC). This new Council is an integral initiative of the BEF, envisioned to accelerate India’s journey to becoming a developed nation by the time of its 100th Independence Day on August 15, 2047. In this mission, VBLC will work as a national movement, bringing youth leaders from across India into a collaborative framework of leadership that reaches every state and district of the country.

Alongside Yatin, the Council has also appointed Bhawika Dangi as Head of Strategic Alliances and Oyin Komboh as Head of Communications. Both Oyin and Bhawika, national finalists in the 2024 National Youth Parliament, exemplify a profound commitment to the development of India, making them ideal leaders in advancing the Council’s ambitious objectives.

Manish Patel, the visionary Founder and Chairman of the Bharat Economic Forum, serves as the Chairperson of the Viksit Bharat Leadership Council. He ensures that all council activities are strategically aligned with the Forum’s core mission to foster inclusive and sustainable growth across India. In his leadership, Mr. Patel foresees VBLC growing into a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO)—one of India’s first DAO, governed through fair elections and innovative leadership programs to empower members and maintain transparency. This model will mark a significant shift towards decentralized governance, fostering a culture of accountability and equal representation from every region of the country.

An Empowering Vision for India's Future

With Yatin, Oyin, and Bhawika spearheading the national leadership, the Viksit Bharat Leadership Council aims to galvanize India’s youth by promoting a culture of unity, collaboration, and innovative thinking across every level of the organization. This Council will serve as a robust platform for young changemakers to contribute to India’s socio-economic transformation through projects and initiatives that resonate with the national vision.

The VBLC’s core objectives include:

  1. Empowering Youth Leadership at All Levels: The VBLC will nurture and channel the skills of India’s youth towards initiatives that drive sustainable economic growth, social inclusivity, technological innovation, and education.

  2. Establishing a Grassroots Network of Leadership: Through structured teams at district, state, and national levels, VBLC members will work closely to identify and address local issues while contributing to national objectives.

  3. Fostering Strategic Partnerships: With Bhawika Dangi as the Head of Strategic Alliances, VBLC will establish collaborations with corporates, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government bodies, and international agencies.

  4. Ensuring Transparent and Decentralized Governance: As envisioned by Mr. Patel, the Council is set to evolve into a DAO model with fair and transparent elections, creating an ecosystem of empowered and responsible young leaders.

  5. Encouraging Continuous Growth and Training: Through extensive leadership programs led by Oyin Komboh as Head of Communications, the Council will train its members in essential communication, management, and organizational skills, equipping them for future roles in governance and social development.

Structuring a National Movement: Teams at District and State Levels

In line with Mr. Patel’s vision, the VBLC will operate through an extensive network of district-level and state-level teams. These teams will serve as a bridge between national leadership and grassroots communities, ensuring that VBLC initiatives resonate deeply within local contexts and address unique challenges faced by diverse communities.

  • District-Level Teams: At the district level, each team will consist of local youth leaders who are passionate about contributing to the Council’s mission. They will coordinate projects, organize events, and facilitate discussions in line with the VBLC’s larger vision, enabling direct impact at the community level. District Heads will work closely with their counterparts at the state level, fostering an inclusive approach where local concerns are represented in state and national dialogues.

  • State-Level Teams: Each state team will oversee and support the efforts of district-level leaders, ensuring consistency, coherence, and alignment with the Council’s broader objectives. These teams will organize state-wide conferences, training sessions, and workshops to engage with a broader audience and cultivate a state-wide network of change agents. They will report their progress and findings to the national leadership team, ensuring that regional insights shape the Council’s overarching strategies.

By maintaining these interconnected teams, the Viksit Bharat Leadership Council creates a streamlined mechanism that brings the voices of local leaders to the national level, facilitating collaborative action across districts, states, and the country as a whole.

Yatin Bhaskar Duggal: Leading VBLC’s National Mission

As National Head of the Viksit Bharat Leadership Council, Yatin Bhaskar Duggal will play a pivotal role in realizing Mr. Patel’s vision of decentralized, youth-led governance. Drawing from his experience and achievements at the National Youth Parliament, Yatin will lead initiatives that prioritize sustainable development, economic growth, and social equity.

Yatin’s leadership style, rooted in empathy, inclusivity, and innovation, aligns with VBLC’s mission to create an empowered generation of youth who are not only aware of their role in India’s development but also equipped with the resources and support they need to drive tangible change. As a bridge between the national leadership and local teams, Yatin will focus on fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusivity, ensuring that the Council’s vision is realized in every corner of India.

Strategic Alliances and Communication: The Roles of Bhawika Dangi and Oyin Komboh

Under the guidance of Bhawika Dangi, Head of Strategic Alliances, the VBLC will establish partnerships with organizations that share its commitment to India’s development goals. These alliances will enable the Council to pool resources, share expertise, and work collaboratively on projects that contribute to India’s progress as a developed nation. Bhawika’s role will also involve building relationships with international entities that align with VBLC’s objectives, positioning the Council as a global leader in youth-led development.

Oyin Komboh, as the Head of Communications, will play a crucial role in shaping the Council’s outreach strategy. She will lead campaigns, workshops, and programs aimed at raising awareness about VBLC’s mission, ensuring that the Council’s initiatives resonate with audiences nationwide. Through a range of communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and events, Bhawika will ensure that the Council’s vision is effectively conveyed to its members and the broader public.

Connecting Vision to Action: Key Initiatives and Yearly Viksit Bharat Leadership Awards

In alignment with the mission to achieve a developed India by 2047, the VBLC will launch key initiatives and programs at the district, state, and national levels. These initiatives will span various areas, including sustainable development, social equality, and economic empowerment, each designed to contribute directly to India’s national objectives.

The Viksit Bharat Leadership Awards will be a hallmark event, held annually, to recognize and celebrate outstanding contributions made by Council members and other change agents. The first edition of this prestigious awards ceremony is scheduled for December 22, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. These awards will honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovative thinking, and a commitment to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation.

The annual awards will serve as an inspirational platform, motivating Council members and youth leaders across the nation to continue their efforts with renewed dedication each year until India’s 100th Independence Day.
